Burger Highlife Made In Germany • Kumasi Experiences Old Times
Burger Highlife Made In Germany • Kumasi Experiences Old Times Last Saturday, a Burger Highlife concert which was held in Accra a week earlier, was repeated at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi, as part of the Ghana @ 50 celebrations.
Titled “Burger Highlife made in Germany, the show was put together by the Goethe-Institut and the German Embassy and it featured Ghanaian musicians who sharpened their skills in Germany - Lumba Brothers, Charles Amoah, George Darko, Pat Thomas, Bob Fiscian, and McGod.
Also on the bill was the young duo, Akyeame, all of who performed their brand of Burger Highlife to the admiration of a yelling audience.
The tone for the evening was set by Akyeame who warmed the audience followed by the Lumba Brothers who proved to the crowd that they were back in a big way. Going down memory lane, they performed songs from their Lumba days and then individually did songs from their albums.
Accomplished keyboardist, Bob Fiscian, gave an exciting performance and so did McGod and Charles Amoah.
The evening, however, belonged to George Darko who rocked the hall with his hit songs Money Palaver, Highlife Time, Akoo te Brofo and others.
Pat Thomas ended it all with a wonderful performance from his old repertoire, Masan Aba, Sika Ye Mogya and Megyedzi So.
It was a night to remember and music lovers in Kumasi will forever be grateful to the organisers for bringing them such a wonderful programme.
